A woman who grew food in her allotment to give away to families in need during the cost of living crisis has shared her devastation after vandals destroyed her crops ruth_comerford reports
and is herself on disability benefits, started planting vegetables instead of flowers last year and shared her produce with her local community in an effort to combat the cost of living crisis.
“What’s heart-wrenching is that those onions were planted by children and they really put their effort in to put something back into the community. I felt like I’d been kicked in the face. I have no other explanation for it.
