A suspect is being sought in the fatal shooting Friday night of a woman in Oakland’s Uptown district.
OAKLAND — A 29-year-old San Francisco woman was fatally shot Friday night in the Uptown district, authorities said.The shooting happened about 10:47 p.m. Friday in the 1900 block of Telegraph Avenue, near William Street.The wounded woman was taken to a hospital where she later died.
Police have not released a motive for the killing. No suspect information has been released yet by investigators. The killing is the 50th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year. Last year at this time police had investigated 53 homicides in the city. Police and Crime Stoppers of Oakland are offering up to $10,000 in reward money for information leading to the arrest of the killer.
