UPDATE: A man at the scene of a woman's fatal stabbing at a home in West San Jose was arrested, police say. Investigators believe he knew the victim, and the stabbing was not random.
At about 6:05 p.m. Wednesday, officers responded to the 900 block of Daffodil Way in San Jose on reports of a stabbing, police said. They found a woman suffering from a stab wound. Officers attempted life-saving measures, but the woman died at the scene, police said Thursday.
Initial reports indicated the victim was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died later. Police did not report the fatality until Thursday morning. A man at the scene was determined to be responsible for the stabbing and was arrested, police said. His identity was not released, but investigators believe he knew the victim, and the stabbing was not random.
