Jacqueline Higson, 65, denies causing death by dangerous driving following a collision that left biker Darron Coster dead

A woman has denied killing a biker who was described as a 'hero' for rushing to save victims of the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017.

Jacqueline Higson, 65, from Chatburn, Lancashire, was charged with causing death by dangerous driving and appeared at Bradford Crown Court on Friday, August 9. She entered a not guilty plea during her first court appearance and is due to go on trial at the same court on April 14 next year. The trial is expected to last five days.

Drawing on his training, he used an injured man's belt and a handbag strap as tourniquets, and answered the ringing mobile phones of two injured victims, speaking with their relatives and reassuring them. Following his death, his family released an emotional tribute to him. They said: "Darron ‘Daz’ Coster was a proud Army veteran serving 22 years with the Royal Military Police. He was a devoted husband and father, and seven years ago he donated his kidney to his brother which saved his life.
