She was jailed for one year
A woman who was caught red-handed burgling a house in Northampton last weekend has been sentenced by magistrates. Miranda Gaisford previously of Carey Street, Northampton smashed a window in order to break into a property on St George’s Avenue on Sunday night .
The 35-year-old was caught by officers from Northamptonshire Police and arrested at the scene. She was subsequently charged with burglary. Gaisford pleaded guilty to the offence at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday . The judge sentenced her to one year in prison.PC Christina Cooper from Northants Police’s Burglary Team, said: “Miranda Gaisford showed a complete disregard for this person’s home and during the hours of darkness, took the opportunity to smash the window, enter the property and cause damage inside.
“I am pleased that she has been sentenced for her crime and I hope it acts as a warning to other burglars that Northamptonshire is a hostile place for these acts of criminality.”READ NEXT:
