A fire on Haley Street near Toub Street that investigators said was deliberately set destroyed a 1,500-square-foot house and a RV parked nearby, authorities said
A 57-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of deliberately setting her own house on fire in Ramona on Monday morning, a sheriff's official said. Firefighters and deputies responded to a report of a fire at a home on Haley Street near Toub Street around 6 a.m. after the Sheriff's Department fielded a call from a resident stating the house was on fire, officials said. Cal Fire crews arrived in minutes and found the home fully engulfed in flames.
After deciding it was intentionally set, detectives arrested the woman on suspicion of arson, sheriff's Detective Dan Wilson said in a statement. 'At this time it is unclear as to her motives for the fire, however she did intend to willfully damage the residence,' Wilson said in an email. He said the woman's 'statements made prior to the fire and what investigators saw at the scene led them to believe it was intentionally set.
