A 26-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter following a New Year's Day crash that killed a 66-year-old woman. The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Marguerite Parkway and Pueblonuevo Drive in Mission Viejo , Orange County. A Chevy Malibu, traveling the wrong way in the southbound lanes of Marguerite Parkway, collided head-on with a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Camry, a 66-year-old woman from San Juan Capistrano, was killed in the collision. The driver of the Malibu was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries, released, and subsequently booked into Orange County jail
