IPOH: A 37-year-old housewife and her seven-year-old son died after the car they were in collided head-on with a lorry here.

"We believe that the lorry was heading to Tanjung Tualang and the car was coming from Kg Gajah.

"Upon arriving at Jalan Tanjung Tualang to Kampung Gajah junction, the lorry went into the opposite lane and rammed into the car," he said.Supt Barudin said the remains of both victims were taken to Hospital Changkat Melintang for a post-mortem examination.He said the lorry driver was arrested and the case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transportation Act for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
