Just before noon, fire crews were called to the 1400 block of Benson Avenue around noon Sunday where a house had reportedly caught fire. One man jumped out the window of the single-story house to escape, and crews rescued a woman and a child from the house fire. The woman was taken to OSU Main Hospital, and the child was taken to Nationwide Children's Hospital.A dog was also rescued from the fire, and officials say the dog is okay.
Crews were able to put out the fire quickly, and none of the surrounding houses were damaged. The American Red Cross assisted at the scene.The cause of the fire is under investigation.
