“She’s been injured by it,' said the woman's lawyer. 'Her face might be scarred from this. This is a permanent mark.”
On Tuesday, Judy Pleunik filed a lawsuit against Macy’s after grappling with the mark on her left cheek for over a year. According to ABC 13, Pleunik visited the Macy’s branch at Baybrook Mall in Houston, Texas, in February 2018.
“It just doesn’t go away,” she told the news outlet. “My dermatologist tried to get it off, and he could not get it off. He said if she used a magic marker, makeup or an ink pen he could get it off. It went right into my skin pigment, almost like a tattoo.”"I want to figure out how to get this off my face," Pleunik told ABC 13.
"I'm hoping for Macy's to be accountable for what happened to Judy,” Ephron told the outlet. “This is a horrible situation. She's terribly embarrassed by it.” ABC 13 also accessed the court filing in which Pleunik claims that a Macy’s employee drew the “X” on her cheek. When they questioned the employee about it, the employee said she didn’t remember the “X” being there.
