The truck was pulling out of a gas station at the time of the crash, investigators said.
An investigation revealed that a tractor trailer was exiting the Citgo gas station on the west side of the highway and that its entire tractor portion was in the road when the woman crashed directly into it around 8:30 a.m., according to a joint statement from the Roxbury Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office.
The driver of the car, a Netcong woman who was driving east on Route 46, was pronounced dead at the scene, the office said. She was not identified late Tuesday night as authorities were still in the process of notifying her next of kin.The crash remained under investigation by the agencies as well as the Morris County Sheriff’s Office.
