'Kind-hearted' woman, 22, died after overdosing on medication she bought online, inquest hears
Ania Sohail, 22, was an inpatient at the Junction 17 mental health unit in Prestwich when she died on June 19, 2021.
Ania had bought the drug online and ordered them to her family's home in Whalley Range, jurors heard. Following a gap year in which she worked as a youth worker, Ania secured a place at the University of Manchester, jurors were told. She relocated to the city with her parents in August 2019. The second - on June 5 - happened just weeks before she died. Despite requiring hospital treatment, Ania was granted five hours of unescorted leave on June 18.
Ania and her family later visited a restaurant - where Ms Sohail said her daughter appeared in ‘good spirits’ - before she returned to Junction 17.
