Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness has claimed Gary O’Neil should get until Christmas to turn results around at Wolves., the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted he “admires” the 41-year-old for his work at Molineux last season.The Molineux club are bottom of the Premier League and are yet to win a top-flight game in the 2024-25 campaign.
O’Neil, who joined on the eve of the start of the 2023-24 campaign, led Wolves to a 14th-place finish last term following huge player sales.“Having observed the way the Wolves board and owners act, it may be that they are looking at bringing someone else in at Christmas if he can’t turn it around. “I hope that’s not the case because I admire the way he got Wolves playing last season and got them united again.“Certainly, he won’t be judged on the Man City game but the games leading up to Christmas are going to be important.”
