Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever, recorded nine assists in the Fever’s 92-75 win over the Seattle Storm to set the new rookie record for most assists in a season with 232 – and counting. The former Iowa star accomplished the feat in 28 games, with 12 games remaining on the Fever’s regular season schedule.
“Records are meant to be broken…it shows growth and evolution,” the 2005 WNBA champion and four-time All-Star wrote in aReese, the No. 7 overall pick by the Chicago Sky, scored 19 points and reeled in 20 rebounds to become the fastest player in league history to register 20 double-doubles, doing so in 27 games.
The record-setting performances by Clark and Reese on Sunday are the latest in a string of impressive performances by the star rookies.
