Many witnesses recounted their harrowing experiences after a medical jet crashed in Northeast Philadelphia on Friday evening. A gas station employee, who was standing at the door when the crash occurred, described hearing a deafening sound and feeling the building tremble. He saw a massive fire erupting from the crash site and, fearing debris, kept the door shut to protect other customers. He recounted the scene: 'People kept trying to walk towards the smoke, there was black smoke.
You could smell the jet fuel.' He also mentioned seeing a line of cars engulfed in flames and a nearby home also ablaze. First responders arrived swiftly and worked to secure the area, keeping onlookers at a safe distance.Another witness, who was inside a Bath and Body Works store at the Roosevelt Mall, shared his account with NBC Philadelphia's Aaron Baskerville. He stated that the building shook violently, prompting him to investigate outside. What he saw was a 'huge explosion,' according to his description. He also mentioned witnessing a person engulfed in flames shortly after the crash.Gustavo Chaves, who was at home with his wife when the incident happened, described a terrifying experience. He felt a sudden jolt that resembled an earthquake, causing him to look out his window. What he saw was an orange, daylight-like glow in the sky. Chaves recalled, '(The) whole house shook. And then I was like, there's an earthquake. Because, you know, (when) it happened I was like, 'It's an earthquake again.'' He continued, 'I opened the window and it's like daylight outside, like complete, just orange. And I was like, 'Something really bad happened.'
