A man with more than two dozen priors has been locked up for weeks after an argument outside a thrift store reportedly turned threatening.
Kevin Ernest Hooker was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon without intent to kill, July 2, 2024.
The arrest report continued, “All four individuals advised that he initially argued and threatened to cut them with a knife, but that he did not have one on his person, and that immediately after this threat, he went back inside the building and came out with both a black bag and a ‘rusty regular hammer.’”
Then, “Shortly after collecting this information, officer advised dispatch that she had found the suspect matching that exact description.” “Even though Hooker did admit to threatening to hurt , he was adamant that at no point did he brandish a hammer or any other weapon, due to him not owning such tools.
