Unified Police identified Maxwell Archibald as the man behind the wheel of a car seen driving the wrong way on I-215, following a chase and robbery that ended w
ith a person getting shot.
“It all happened so fast,” Mears said. “Just around the bend, out of nowhere, I saw this car coming right up the shoulder, heading at me” Mears said.Mears, who was on his way home from work, said the situation was an "adrenaline rush" when Archibald sped past him.But the pursuit became so dangerous that police had to call it off several times.
Police said when Archibald entered the freeway in the wrong direction, they had to notify the Utah Highway Patrol.
