Kansas City’s Andy Reid is the only coach with more wins in that span.

McCarthy became the head coach of the Packers in January of 2006. The club wanted to give the first-time head coach the security of a four-year contract. Green Bay went 8-8 in McCarthy’s first season to double its win total from the previous season. In his second season, the Packers went 13-3 to secure the No. 2 seed before losing in overtime to the New York Giants in the NFC Championship Game.The Packers had approached McCarthy about an extension during the season. He politely declined, saying he would like to wait until the season was done.
