A tropical depression in the eastern Atlantic is expected to turn into a tropical storm on Friday, and a potential tropical or subtropical storm may develop near the Carolina coast.
The area shaded in orange is where forecasters say a tropical storm or subtropical storm may develop early next week, a few hundred miles off the coast of the southeastern U.S., it’s been bone dry this entire month. But some weather forecasters say we might see some steady rain next week because of the
“Thereafter, some subtropical or tropical development is possible during the early part of next week while the system moves generally northwestward toward the coast,” the Forecasters say Tropical Depression 7 will likely strengthen into a tropical storm on Friday, Sept. 13. But the system is not expected to pose any direct threats to land.While few people enjoy rainy weather, there’s no denying it’s been extremely dry in New Jersey this month.
Although our region is at the low end of the scale, any long stretch of dry conditions could negatively impact water reservoirs and also could boost the risk of dangerous brush fires and wildfires.
