PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian government has flown 81 stranded Malaysians home from the Philippines.

Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said that the 81 Malaysians landed at the Kota Kinabalu airport at 11pm Thursday .

"They were all flown back on a Royal Malaysian Air Force C-130 aircraft, which departed from the Labuan airbase. "Two medical officers from the Health Ministry and three from the Air Force also joined the flight," he said in a statement Friday ."I would like to express my appreciation to the Armed Forces, especially the RMAF, for helping to bring back our people from the Philippines.

"I would also like to give my highest appreciation to the Filipino government and all that had helped in making this mission a success,"he said.
