Inspiring Yorkshire women making the county a better place to live
What does International Women’s Day mean to you?
It’s a day to promote achievements but recognise that not everything is equal yet. There have been huge strides and elements to celebrate, but there is significant work still to do. Balance in leadership, politics and more is still missing, let alone the disproportionate impacts on women’s rights across the world including a lack of access to safe healthcare. Everyone needs to be part of the solution, and that isn’t optional.
It’s a really important celebration of women around the world and an opportunity to reflect on how far we have come but also to stop and discuss how far we still have to go in pursuit of equality.Having great interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to make and maintain really meaningful friendships.I feel my most powerful when I feel fit, healthy and strong. That means looking after my physical and mental health, which is not always easy.
For me, it is about celebrating women and supporting each other. Most of our trainers at Mini First Aid are women and I feel so proud of each and every one of them. They are all out there, growing their own businesses and helping people to save lives by learning first aid.My friendships with other women! I am lucky to have the most incredible female friends. Things can get pretty intense when you’re juggling the demands of a large family, with running a rapidly expanding business.
