English teacher Jordan Cernek claims he using students' preferred pronouns would go against his religious beliefs.

A Wisconsin teacher is suing his school district for allegedly firing him for refusing to use a student’s preferred pronouns., filed in July by the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty , alleges English teacher Jordan Cernek objected to the Argyle School District's policy of referring to transgender students by their preferred pronouns for religious reasons.

After continuing to refuse the rule, Cernek’s teaching contract allegedly went unrenewed by the Argyle School District. The complaint alleges the incident violated Cernek’s free speech rights, anti-discrimination law Title VII, and the Wisconsin Constitution. The district policy would force me to go against my conviction and commitment to God,” Cernek added. “I did everything within my power to accommodate the needs of my students without compromising my faith.”
