The Wisconsin Supreme Court on Friday ruled that the state's Republican-gerrymandered state legislative maps are unconstitutional and must be redrawn before the 2024 elections. Justice Jill J. Karofsky wrote for the court's 4-3 majority that the current maps violate a constitutional provision 'that Wisconsin 's state legislative districts must be composed of physically adjoining territory.
Wisconsin's Supreme Court singled out the state's 47th Assembly District as an example of a noncontiguous and thus unconstitutional map.
