A touch of snow is expected in Manhattan tonight, just in time to set a festive mood for the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting. The ceremony begins at 8 p.m. ET, when temperatures are forecast to plunge to around 40 degrees, although it will feel even colder with wind chill, accompanied by a light dusting of snow.
For the millions tuning in from their warm and cozy homes, coverage of the lighting ceremony airs from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. ET on NBC or can be streamed on Peacock. It is not just New York City that's potentially in for some snow. At least ten states across New England and the Midwest are bracing for more snowfall tonight, with up to 18 inches forecast in some New York state counties, according to forecasts from AccuWeather.
