The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Carbon, Monroe, and Northampton counties, predicting 5 to 8 inches of snow accumulation. Temperatures are expected to drop into the teens Sunday night and remain below freezing for several days, leading to icy and hazardous road conditions. The warning advises drivers to exercise caution, slow down, and prepare for potential travel difficulties.

On Saturday at 2:49 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning valid from Sunday 10 a.m. until Monday 1 a.m. for Carbon, Monroe and Northampton counties.

"Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous. Travel could be very difficult," describes the weather service. "If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
