Seven Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters who were injured when a natural-gas-powered truck exploded in Wilmington are suing the manufacturer, designer, distributer, owner and driver of the vehicle, alleging negligence.The explosion occurred around 7 a.m. Feb. 15 near Alameda Street and Henry Ford Avenue. Nine firefighters who had responded to a report of a vehicle fire were injured in the blast, two of them critically. All ultimately survived.

PREVIOUS COVERAGE:Within minutes of arriving on scene, one of the truck's two compressed natural gas fuel tanks exploded, injuring the firefighters, one of whom could be seen on video being violently thrown through the air by the blast.
