Prince William paid a touching tribute to Princess Diana as he attended a palace garden party following King Charles’ Coronation.
The garden party, held as part of the celebrations following King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, was attended by William and Kate, 41, as well as Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh. And when Kensington Palace’s Sunken Gardens - one of Princess Diana’s favourite spots - was made over in 2021, a hundred forget-me-nots were planted.
But the Prince of Wales was soon ushered over to meet Dame Elizabeth Watts, a 93-year-old who has lived through the past three coronations and slept on the pavement for three nights to see Queen Elizabeth II officially crowned in 1953. For the garden party, Kate, 41, recycled her beautiful blue Elie Saab dress – which she had previously worn to Royal Ascot in 2019. She completed the sustainable ensemble with a Philip Treacy hat with floral adornments and the same silver clutch bag.
