For, Willem Dafoe participating in action scenes as an actor is vital: “You gotta do that stuff to get dirty, to connect the dramatic pieces.”
Dafoe explained why it’s vital that actors approach all of their work—from biopics to comic book films—with the same amount of passion.the superhero sequel in which Dafoe reprised his villainous role of Norman Osborn/Green Goblin. He lauded the fighting technique of his “excellent partner”before explaining the “leapfrogging” process required between acting and performing stunt work.
“Choreography, you slowly learn it. You slowly refine it and then when you get there, you practice a lot and really shoot it quite a bit because action sequences usually depend on pretty good cutting,” Dafoe said. “I love doing that stuff, just because it’s athletic. And if you don’t do it, it’s really hard to connect the dramatic scenes, if you don’t do the action stuff. Because you gotta do that stuff to get dirty, to connect the dramatic pieces.
