Yankees hired Sean Casey as hitting coach in July
. Post-Casey, the second baseman has increased his batting average from .252 to .275, his on-base percentage from .325 to .343 and his slugging from .413 to .472.
Casey’s future with the team remains a question mark. If this is it for him, however, he’s had a lot of fun. “I’m really enjoying it now,” he said. “Really having a relationship with all these guys and being able to settle in with them and talk to them about hitting and really get to know them, what their strengths and weaknesses are, what their approach is at the plate. Being able to talk process with them and things like that.
