All of us have to vote even if we aren’t enamored by the choices or the often woeful conduct of political parties that reinforce perceptions that voting doesn’t make a difference. In addition to the presidency, the control of the House and Senate and numerous state offices are also at stake. Being bombarded with online disinformation, political discord and selective interpretations of selective facts doesn’t make political engagement easy. Our civic duty, however, is to ferret out the noise and make informed choices at the ballot box. And when we turn away from the ballot box, we also turn away from the foundation of our democracy..
