£300 is expected this autumn
The government says you will NOT get a payment if you are only getting the following benefits:You also won’t be eligible for the autumn Cost of Living Payment if your benefit is reduced to £0 for the qualifying period. This is sometimes called a ‘nil award’.
Reasons your benefit may be reduced to £0 include your changes in your earnings or savings, if you got a benefits 'sanction', or you started getting another benefit.They don't need to be paid back and don’t count towards the benefit cap, so your benefits will be unaffected.You don’t need to apply. Cost of Living payments are made automatically to those who are eligible. They are usually paid to the bank account associated with your benefits.
