Texas elementary students are closer to having Christian stories weaved throughout lessons in a move that supporters say will raise the academic bar but that critics lambast as religious indoctrination.
Those in opposition have tied the lesson plans to national politics and the trend of conservative politicians pushing for more religion in public schools.
