didn’t use any impressive moves or particular explosiveness to get to the quarterback for that sack. Leatherwood, plain and simple, got zero depth in his pass set and then completely missed with his hands when he got caught reaching as Gustin blew past him.
In that same clip, the left tackle at the top of the screen clearly gets an extra yard and a half of depth compared to Leatherwood. That tackle, journeyman veteran, doesn’t have a perfect rep either, but there’s no question that there’s better effort and skill from him over Leatherwood. That wasn’t the only play that Leatherwood got blown by either. The whole time he was playing right tackle, he looked completely outplayed and outclassed by Dolphins defenders.OT/OG Alex Leatherwood has struggled at OT.
