At his Friday press conference, Philadelphia coach Nick Sirianni was asked how careful he needed to be with Jones. The coach appeared to indicate the two-time first-team All-Pro would be on a pitch coach. “You’re going to be tempted to want to put him in because he’s a phenomenal player who’s done a lot in this league,”. “But we’re going to have to make sure that we’re not putting him in danger. Doing what we need to do to help us win the game and doing what he needs to do to help us win the game, but also being smart with his rep count just because of the elevated risk of injury if you put him in for too much.”Sirianni saidthis week.
The Eagles and Dolphins will square off at 7:20 p.m. CDT Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. NBC will televise the game, which matches 5-1 teams.The Eagles signed Jones for their practice squad. He will need to be elevated on Saturday to be eligible to play on Sunday. Each NFL team can elevate two practice-squad members to active status for each game.
