That was February 2017. Two short months later, in April, the Sask. Party government passed Bill 40, which allows for the partial sale, up to 49 per cent of all Crown corporations.

With the understanding that Crown corporations operate on a system of profits and losses, selling those that don’t register a profit makes little sense. In August of 2022, the government announced a one-time Saskatchewan Affordability Tax Credit, which would see a $500 rebate delivered to Saskatchewan residents who had filed taxes in the previous year.
