The British superstar will drop her comeback single “Easy on Me” next Friday , and from there on out, it seems like the year will belong to the powerhouse vocalist. The tune surely fronts a new album , and it appears that no one else will be able to dominate the fourth quarter of 2021 quite like she will.
After “Easy on Me” has enjoyed its first full tracking week, the tune is all but guaranteed to debut at No. 1 on the Hot 100, and it will absolutely rack up an impressive first-frame sales sum...but will that number be large enough to top the current record?’s Digital Song Sales chart, the weekly ranking of the bestselling individual tunes in the U.S.
BTS currently hold the record for the largest sales week of 2021 for a single, as their summery hit “Butter” arrived with just under 243,000 copies sold in its debut frame. The song went on to rack up at least 100,000 sales in more than half a dozen more frames, and it still stands as the bestselling title of the year. As if that showing was impressive enough,"Permission to Dance" launched with just over 140,000 copies sold, earning one of the biggest starts of 2021 as well.
