It was also fueled by high winds.Evacuations were ordered as a fire raged in the foothills of Angeles National Forest near Pasadena and Altadena, state fire officials said.Steve Gutierrez of the National Federation of Federal Employees said the U.S. Forest Service was sending firefighters to help battle the blaze. The fire was first reported at 6:23 p.m.

No deaths or serious injuries in the fire have been reported, which officials at a news conference called a blessing.
