🔥HAPPENING NOW: A wildfire was spotted by park rangers in the remote area of Imlay Canyon within Zion National Park.
SPRINGDALE, Utah —Crews said Monday's wildfire was located away from popular trails and canyoneering routes.
Park rangers believe that the wildfire was started by lightning, a common cause of fires in natural areas. Check to make sure there are no fire restrictions before you start a campfire, and never leave a fire until it is out cold. Fires are only allowed in designated, metal fire rings in campgrounds. Fires are never allowed in park Wilderness.Check chains on trailers to make sure they don't drag on the road.As a precautionary measure, visitors are advised that if they observe smoke while hiking on the West Rim Trail, Observation Point, or other park trails, there is no need to report it.
