The series is directed by Song Yong Kim, known in part for her work on the star-studded Apple TV+ series Roar, and stars Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen. In Wilderness, Liv and Will, a couple played by Coleman and Jackson-Cohen, respectively, go on a road trip in the wake of an affair; unbeknownst to Will, Liv has revenge on her mind.
Key to the tone of Wilderness is The Power composer Morgan Kibby, who is also known for her work writing songs for artists and groups including Panic!
