The Dallas Mavericks have won the NBA Draft lottery and will have the No.1 overall pick this June. The Mavericks had a 1.8% chance of capturing the top pick and jumped ten spots up the draft order, the largest move by any team in lottery history, according to ESPN.

Wicksburg’s softball team is a win away from repeating as state champion, this time in a higher classification. The Panthers won three games during Tuesday’s Class 3A State Championships in Oxford to advance to Wednesday’s championship round.

They opened with an 11-1 win over Lee-Scott Academy and followed with a 6-0 win over Madison Academy and a 2-1 victory over St. James. Wicksburg plays in Wednesday’s 5 p.m. championship game at Oxford’s Choccolocco Park. Mars Hill Bible and Mobile Christian play an elimination game at 10:45 a.m. with the winner facing St. James at 1:30 p.m. with that winner facing Wicksburg in the championship, needing to win two games over the Panthers. Wicksburg, which won the 2A state title last year, needs to win only once to take home a second straight title.
