Detectives say Gary Meikle will face up to the 'horrific attack' he inflicted on Charles Wilson, after being handed a life sentence with a minimum of 19 years and six months behind bars.
A killer who inflicted at least 54 stab wounds on his victim will now 'face the consequences' of his actions after being handed a life sentence for his 'wicked' crimes.
The 40-year-old victim was discovered with serious injuries at a flat on Tontine Park following reports of a fire around 7.25am on Saturday, 25 March, 2023. He had a number of health issues including with his mobility. He weighed just eight stone at the time of his death. Charles had known Meikle for around three years. The killer lived just a short distance away.
