Opinion: He could take on the MAGA/QAnon quacks. He's won three statewide races. He knows that Arizona's election systems are professionally run and secure.
They’re not complaining about any of the many races in which Republicans won. They’re only griping about Lake and the other Trump and MAGA/QAnon sycophants who lost their elections.Ducey has been through numerous statewide campaigns in Arizona. He was elected Arizona treasurer in 2010. He was elected governor in 2014 and then again in 2018.
He knows how Arizona elections are run. He knows that most – if not all – of the safety procedures in place to conduct those elections were ushered through the Legislature by Republicans, who have controlled the Capitol for many years. He knows as well that those systems are professionally run and secure. Again, mostly by Republicans.
Trump is leading the chorus, as usual. Lake seems to have spent more time lately in Mar-a-Lago with the MAGA cabal than in Arizona, all of which has led to an ugly uptick in threats against election officials. Should anything come of those threats you know Ducey immediately would issue a statement denouncing the violence and urging people to tone down the rhetoric and respect the state’s election process. It would be heartfelt. It would be sincere. It would be forceful.Arizona residents have been waiting eight years for Ducey to develop a backbone and demonstrate some actual leadership, some true grit.
