The Wheel Of Time Books Explain Why Nynaeve Struggles With Channeling As Liandrin pointed out in the premiere, Nynaeve has a “block” that’s holding her back. In The Wheel of Time, the term refers to an emotional problem that interferes with a person’s ability to access the One Power. There’s no shortage of things it could be, including a fear of some sort, low self-esteem, or something else entirely. Like her TV counterpart, the books’ version of Nynaeve struggled with a block of her own.
