The Witcher season 3 has struggled due to Henry Cavill’s departure, but that isn’t the only reason the season is suffering among fans and critics.

The first half of The Witcher season 3 has finally arrived at Netflix, however, this latest installment of the video game adaptation isn't doing nearly as well as its predecessors, and surprisingly, it has more problems to it than just its lead actor leaving. The Witcher is a fantasy series created by Netflix and based on the 2007 video game and the book series by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski.

The Witcher Season 3's Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score Is Partly Because Of Henry Cavill Quitting The most obvious and major reason that The Witcher's Rotten Tomatoes score has dropped so intensely this season is because Henry Cavill is leaving The Witcher. In October 2022, the actor who portrays Geralt of Rivia in the series announced that he would no longer be a part of the series after season 3.

The Witcher Season 3 Also Has Other Big Problems Beyond Henry Cavill The other significant problem The Witcher faces in season 3, and throughout its overall run, is inaccuracy to the source material. As previously mentioned, The Witcher is originally based on a series of Polish fantasy novels, and though the series makes an effort to stay true to these books, every season seems to veer farther and farther away from the primary source.

The Witcher Season 3's Rotten Tomatoes Critics Score Has Also Dropped What is most surprising about The Witcher's Rotten Tomatoes score post-season 3 is that the critics score also dropped. Where the first two seasons maintained a Certified Fresh score of 95%, it has now dipped to 81%. To be fair, this isn't at all a bad score. It may not be Certified Fresh, but it is still a respectable score.
