Action franchises of The Equalizer's ilk, such as the John Wick movies, are generally in competition with themselves and try to one-up whatever came before it. On the other hand, that might not be the case with The Equalizer 3, as the MPA hasn't warned parents about drug content, which was why The Equalizer 2 was rated R, or sexual references, which is why The Equalizer was rated R.
Why Equalizer 3 Is Not Suitable For Children The Equalizer franchise is full of severe violence, and when McCall pulls off a John Wick-like kill, it's much more horrifying than entertaining. Based on the The Equalizer 3 trailer, the movie features a lot more of this dark, hard-to-watch violence. While there'll also be plenty of knife fights and head shots in The Equalizer 3, those are tame by the franchise's standard.
