A rise in geopolitical tensions has provided a serious boost to DroneShield’s international revenue.
Oleg Vornik, the chief executive of DroneShield, is extra careful about which airlines he chooses to fly with after his name appeared on Vladimir Putin’sfrom Turkey, the chief executive says he chose not to fly with a particular airline on his most recent trip abroad because the route skirted Russia’s southern border.
DroneShield was founded in Virginia by two US scientists in 2014 and moved its headquarters to Sydney to coincide with its ASX listing in 2016. “When customers come to us asking for counter-drone equipment, they have a pressing, urgent problem that they cannot wait for six months to receive delivery,” Vornik says.TechnologyOne’s campaign to crack the UK has been a slow burn. After almost two decades in the region, the Brisbane-based company is finally picking up momentum by narrowing its focus to its areas of expertise.
Its acquisition of UK- headquartered higher education timetabling platform Scientia, has also given TechnologyOne an introduction to working with more than 100 universities in the region.Chung has raised the prospect of entering the US market one day but is wary of repeating the same mistakes the company made in the UK.
