Sharks CEO Eduard Coetzee explained why the Sharks decided to sign Springbok Aphiwe Dyantyi, who returned to professional rugby following his four-year ban for doping. | Sbu_Mjikeliso Sport24news
Sharks CEO Eduard Coetzee said they wanted to give Springbok Aphiwe Dyantyi a"second chance" after signing him to the Durban franchise following his four-year doping ban.
Dyantyi was banned after his urine came back positive for three S1 category steroidal substances: methandienone, methyltestosterone and LGD-4033 in 2019. The winger/outside centre was injured at the time of the test during a Springbok camp, prior to the Rugby Championship that year, ahead of the Rugby World Cup in Japan.Get 14 days free to read all our investigative and in-depth journalism.
