Alabama special teams coordinator Jay Nunez will return to Oklahoma with the Crimson Tide on Saturday.

“Coach Venables, I owe him the world,” Nunez said Wednesday. “He pulled me out of Eastern Michigan to go home and coach at a school like that.” DeBoer and Nunez had never worked together before this season. However, they had mutual friends, as Nunez had followed behind his new boss at Southern Illinois and Eastern Michigan.
On Saturday, Nunez and the Crimson Tide are returning to Norman. Alabama and Oklahoma will face off for the first time since 2018.
