Town Supervisor Bill Reilich said if passed, Prop 2 would allow any Greece resident the chance to be considered for a vacancy on the Town Board. The remaining board would vote on the choices to then fill that spot.“The current way is the committee of the party will interview and vet the candidates and choose the two best and submit it to the Town Board to fill,” said Dobson.
“For to come in at the 11th hour and want to make a change to the process for selecting individuals to the Town Board or town supervisor upon a vacancy is ridiculous," Dobson said.“And then it could have been fully reviewed, discussed and debated — the pros and cons and the whole process understood," he said. "But no, it had to be voted on in October."“Anyone from the public could speak,” he said.“It's allowing anybody in our community to put forth their name,” he said.
