“His son had sworn at him and repeatedly asked for funds,” Robert Jobson claims in his new book, “Our King: Charles III: The Man and the Monarch Revealed.”
The Queen also reportedly grew weary of Prince Harry’s calls.Charles, 74, explained he was “already having to pay” a lot to fund Harry, Prince William and Kate Middleton, according to the Archewell Foundation founder.
“Pa didn’t financially support Willy and me, and our families, out of any largesse,” Harry wrote. “That was his job. That was the whole deal.” The duke then alleged that Charles wasn’t really interested in preserving his bank account but rather was jealous of Markle’s growing popularity.“Pa might have dreaded the rising cost of maintaining us, but what he really couldn’t stomach was someone new dominating the monarchy, grabbing the limelight, someone shiny and new coming in and overshadowing him,” Harry wrote.
Despite the father-son estrangement, Jobson writes in his new book that Charles feels “torn between love and duty and [is] deeply saddened.”The Palace recently announced that Harry will be attending Charles’s coronation.his father’s coronation on May 6 — but Markle will not join him. “The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” a palace spokesperson previously told Page Six.Filed under
